A large silver pair of anklets called “kalli”, from the Newar people of Nepal. According to Gabriel, this kind of anklets are now out of fashion, and were used by married women until the birth of their first child. The author of the book mentioned below, also explains that, following Hindu traditions, the anklets, which are close to the polluted ground, cannot be made of gold, the sacred metal.
